Curbside Collection - Basic Information
Garbage, Recycling and Yard Debris + Food are picked up on the same day each week.
Cans and carts should be put out:
- By 7:00AM on your collection day (actual collection times may vary)
- With lids opening toward the street
Automated Collection
Request a rent-free garbage can and save money on your garbage bill. Allied Waste trucks now have automated arms to empty residential garbage, recycling and yard debris cans and carts. Simply:
- Place can or cart wheels as close to the curb as possible
- Place lid opening toward street
- Place can or cart 2' from other containers and 3' from obstructions (cars, trees and mailboxes)
Collection information
- Missed pick-ups
should be reported immediately:
Call (425) 452-4762 or email us. If notification is given before 6 PM, the container will be collected by 8 PM that same day. If notification is given after 6 PM, collection will occur on the next business day. Notification after 6 PM on a Friday will result in collection on the following Monday.
- Bad weather or emergencies sometimes prevent the safe collection of containers. Generally, trucks do not run when Bellevue schools are closed for bad weather. If an emergency or bad weather prevents safe collection, take materials back inside. A double load of garbage, recycling and yard debris will be collected at no additional charge on the next regularly scheduled collection day (a week later). Excess materials due to missed collection can be put in a temporary container, such as a box or paper bag marked "Garbage," "Recycling" or "Yard Debris."
- Holidays include Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. If your weekly service day falls on or after one of these holidays, collection will be one day later. For example, if your scheduled collection day is Thursday, "Thanksgiving," your containers will be collected on Friday, and Friday customers will have their collection on Saturday.
Rate information
- Monthly single-family residential garbage rates include garbage, recycling and yard debris + food collection services. Rates are based on the size of the garbage can selected. Recycling more items may result in a smaller garbage can, which costs you less. It pays to recycle!
Large and Bulky Items
- Allied Waste picks up large and bulky items, such as mattresses, appliances and furniture for a fee. Call 425-452-4762 for more information.
