Prepare Your Landscape Debris

1. Use the Green Landscape Debris Cart or Container for all your landscape debris.
2. Review the list of What Goes in the Landscape Debris Container.

! Never put landscape debris in the garbage! It is unlawful to put landscape debris in the garbage. Garbage with landscape debris mixed in will not be collected.

Additional Landscape Debris

  • Storm Debris
    • Most storms are not severe enough to warrant the expense of a special collection. If there is a special collection, notification and instructions will be mailed to your property manager.
! Remember - burning yard debris violates Puget Sound air quality standards and is not allowed in Bellevue.

  • Christmas Tree Collection
    • To arrange for special collection of Christmas trees, call us at 425-646-2492
    • Trees must be free of flocking, tinsel, ornaments and metal hangers, cut to 4' lengths and tied into bundles less than 2' wide. Use biodegradable string or twine - no nylon, plastic or other synthetic materials.
    • Flocked trees are not recyclable and will not be accepted. Put flocked trees in the garbage.
  • Haul Landscape Debris to the Transfer Station (the Dump)
    • Landscape Debris can be hauled for recycling to one of the two local transfer stations operated by King County Solid Waste Division:
      • Factoria Transfer Station, 13800 SE 32nd St., Bellevue
      • Houghton Transfer Station, 11724 NE 6th St., Kirkland
    • Call 206-296-6542 for operating hours and directions
  • Home Organic Debris Recycling, Grasscycling, Composting
    • Information on home organic debris recycling, grasscycling and composting is available through the City of Bellevue. Visit the Bellevue's compost website, email us or call Bellevue Utilities at 425-452-6932 for more information.
