Lynnwood Disposal & Recycling Yard Debris Services  


Lynnwood Disposal & Recycling, a Rabanco Company,
provides yard debris and food waste collection services for many of the residents in Lynnwood, Edmonds and Woodway. Yard debris service is available for an additional fee.  To determine if Lynnwood Disposal & Recycling is your service provider locate your residence on the service map, or call us at 425-778-0188 for faster service.


Start, Stop, Change Service

Find Your Collection Day

  • Yard Debris is collected every other week year round on the same day as garbage.

Prepare Your Yard Debris

  1. Use the standard 96-gallon Rabanco Green Yard Debris Cart. Carts are available for a fee. Call 425-778-0188 or fill out the online form.
  2. Review the list of  What Goes in the Yard Debris Cart.
  3. Place your Green Yard Debris Cart out by 6:00 AM on your scheduled collection day. Put carts within 5' of the curb with lid opening toward the street. Please do not block driveways, sidewalks or mailboxes.
  4. Excess yard debris can be bundled (size limit: 4' x 2', 65 lbs max) or placed in paper yard debris bags, customer-owned 32-gallon containers marked "Yard Debris". Yard Debris in regular plastic garbage bags will not be collected! No food waste or food-soiled paper in private cans, paper bags, or boxes.
  5. A unit is one 32 gallon container with a maximum weight of 65 lbs.  Up to 10 units of Yard Debris can be set out every other week. This amount is equivalent to three 96-gallon Rabanco Green Yard Debris Carts (200 lbs. weight limit) per 96 gallon cart and one  paper yard debris bags (weight limit 60 lbs.). Materials in excess of the 10 units will cost extra.
  6. Additional Yard Debris Carts can be rented from Rabanco for a monthly charge. To rent an additional Yard Debris Cart, please call 425-778-0188.
  7. Remove carts from the curb within 24 hours after collection.


Please do not put yard debris in your garbage!


Approved Yard Debris Bags
Residents can use paper yard debris bags for yard debris collection in addition to yard debris containers. If you find yourself using a lot of the yard debris bags, it may be cheaper to rent an additional yard debris cart from Rabanco.

Tips for Collecting Kitchen Scraps
Collect food scraps and food-soiled paper in:
- Used paper bags, or
- Rolled up newspaper
- A reusable plastic container with a tight fitting lid - empty into yard and food waste cart and reuse. Do not put plastic in your cart

To avoid odor and fruit flies, you can:
- Empty food scraps into the yard waste card daily.
- Rinse kitchen container and yard waste cart frequently.
- Line kitchen container with a used paper towel or newspaper.
- Sprinkle baking soda in kitchen container.
- Rub inside of kitchen container lid with vinegar.
- Layer food scraps, food-soiled paper, shredded paper and yard waste in your cart.

Additional Yard Debris

  • Christmas Tree Collection
    • Yard Debris customers can set Christmas trees out on their regularly scheduled collection day.
    • Trees must be free of flocking, tinsel, ornaments and metal hangers, cut to 4' lengths and tied into bundles less than 2' x 3' wide. Use biodegradable string or twine - no nylon, plastic or other synthetic materials.
    • Flocked trees are not recyclable and will not be acceptedwith yard debris.
    • Flocked trees can be picked up as garbage for an additional charge. 
  • Boy Scouts of America Christmas Tree Recycling
    • Each year Rabanco works with the Boy Scouts of America to recycle Christmas Trees.  For more information call The Boy Scouts of America at 425-742-1770.
