What Goes in the Recycling Cart?
Have your recycling containers accessible by 7:00 am on your scheduled collection day.
Place clean and dry recyclable items into the green recycling carts.

Paper
- Paper, junk mail, catalogs, cardboard (flattened, less than 3'x3'), magazines, newspaper, telephone books, paper boxes (liners removed), gift wrap (no foil or ribbon).
- Plastic-coated paper cartons & boxes, including drink boxes (soy and juice, rinsed), frozen food boxes (clean), milk cartons (rinsed), juice cartons and ice cream cartons (flattened and no lids)*

Plastics
- All plastic bottles and jugs (pop, milk) with lids removed
- Round plastic dairy tubs (margarine, yogurt)

Metals
- Aluminum cans (rinsed)
- Tin cans (rinsed and labels
removed)

Glass
- Bottles and jars of any color (rinsed and no lids)

| * Not sure if a carton or box is plastic-coated or poly-coated? Use the scratch and tear test. If you scratch it and see wax, throw it into the Garbage. If you tear it and see a thin layer of plastic-coated paper, rinse, flatten and recycle!
